About Our Redeemer Oromo
Our Redeemer Oromo is an Oromo-speaking congregation in Minneapolis with roots in a Bible study group that began in 1987. The church became a member congregation of the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA in 1995 and describes itself as grounded in its Lutheran heritage of word alone, faith alone, and grace alone. It also identifies as a mother church for Diaspora Oromo churches. Pastor Asefa Malka serves as pastor. Sunday gatherings include a 10:30 AM Sunday Service and an 11:30 AM Children’s Service, with children’s ministry as part of the church’s life.
