About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church is a PCUSA congregation in Shakopee with roots reaching back to 1855, when it was organized by the Rev. Samuel Pond with six charter members. Its first building was a log cabin completed in 1856, and the congregation’s current church building first held services on March 26, 1967, before being formally dedicated that May. The church marked its 160th anniversary in 2015 and was recognized by Presbyterian USA for membership growth in 2009. Worship is offered Sunday at 9:00 AM, with both traditional and contemporary elements, and the church includes children’s ministry and a youth group.
