About Slayton United Methodist Church
Slayton United Methodist Church, founded in 1878 as a Methodist Episcopal Church, has served its community for nearly 150 years and joined with Lake Wilson in 1927 to form a two-point charge within the Prairie Winds Conference of southwest Minnesota. The congregation is passionate about connecting people with the unconditional love of Jesus Christ while fostering personal relationships with Him through the motto "Loving God. Loving Others. Sharing the Love." Under the leadership of Pastor Galen, who began his appointment on July 1st, 2025, the church welcomes all visitors to join in worship and experience warm fellowship before and after services, where hot coffee and genuine community await. The church emphasizes an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere where visitors are invited to experience the Methodist tradition of openness and servant-heartedness that characterizes both the congregation and its outreach to the local community.
