About South Side Missionary Baptist Church
South Side Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, Mississippi, traces its beginning to 1920, when members withdrew from 10th Street Baptist Church to organize a new congregation. The church incorporated in 1997 and moved to its present location in July 2002, after work had begun on a new sanctuary and family life center. The Rev. Isaac Lacy Family Life Center was dedicated on April 28, 2013. Rev. Rayfield Evins Jr. became the church’s eleventh pastor in July 2009. Weekly gatherings include Sunday School, Sunday morning worship, and a Wednesday evening online Bible study on Facebook.
