About Shady Grove Church
Shady Grove Baptist Church in Myrtle, Mississippi, was founded in 1864 by African American pioneers seeking to worship independently. The church has grown substantially under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Reginald Woullard, whose family lineage spans three generations of pastoral service at Shady Grove. The congregation worships in a modern sanctuary and expanded fellowship space, having relocated to a new building in 1993 and added the Rev. Dr. R.W. Woullard, Jr. Family Life Center in 2016. Shady Grove is known for its robust ministry programs, including nearly 70 ministries serving all ages, youth activities, and a transportation ministry. The church also extends its mission globally through partnership with churches and orphanages in Monrovia, Liberia. Visitors are warmly invited to join the congregation for worship in person or via live broadcast.
