About St John's Episcopal Church
St. John's Episcopal Church, located at the corner of Porter and Rayburn Avenue in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, has served the community since its founding as St. Paul's in 1856, adopting its current name in 1877. The church building's design was inspired by the Church of the Ascension in Rockville Center, New York, and the parish was officially established by the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi in 1955. With a rich history intertwined with the coastal heritage of Ocean Springs, the church offers a welcoming environment for both longtime members and visitors. The congregation gathers for multiple Sunday services featuring the Holy Eucharist in different liturgical styles, along with weekday prayer services and online worship options. St. John's maintains active ministries in Christian education, music, pastoral care, and community engagement, reflecting its commitment to spiritual formation and service.
