About St Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church
St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church is a small Eastern Catholic community that has served the southside of St. Joseph, Missouri for over 100 years, making it the first Eastern Catholic church in the Kansas City-St. Joseph area. As a member of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in full communion with Rome, the parish maintains its own rich liturgical and devotional traditions while remaining under papal jurisdiction. The community welcomes all Christians and those interested in experiencing the orthodox Catholic faith through their unique Eastern Catholic celebrations. Services are offered in both English and Ukrainian, allowing parishioners and visitors to engage with this ancient tradition. The parish is currently served by Fr. Petro Kozar, the parochial administrator, who commutes from Omaha, Nebraska to lead worship. This welcoming congregation invites all who wish to be nourished by the venerable Eastern Catholic heritage.
