About Carmelite Monastery
Carmelite Monastery, the Carmel of St. Joseph in St. Louis, is a community of Discalced Carmelite Nuns in the Catholic contemplative tradition. The monastery has been praising the Lord since 1863, with a life centered on prayer, adoration, and intercession. Visitors may take part in the public liturgical life of the monastery through Mass and Eucharistic Adoration hours. The community also receives prayer requests, extending its ministry of intercessory prayer beyond those who are able to visit in person. The monastery’s life includes the vocation and profession of its sisters, including Sr. Miriam’s Solemn Profession.
