About Christ Church Cathedral
Christ Church Cathedral is a historic Episcopal congregation located in Saint Louis, Missouri, with roots stretching back to 1819 when 26 people gathered for worship—marking the first Episcopal-Anglican service west of the Mississippi River. The congregation worships in a magnificent building completed in 1867, designated as a National Historic Landmark and renowned for its Early English Gothic architecture, extraordinary stained glass windows, and an elegantly carved 35-foot reredos comprising 52 religious figures and biblical scenes. The Cathedral describes itself as a joyous welcoming community centered on the values of being present, being authentically yourself, and being loved within God's Kingdom.
