The church building itself, dedicated in 1885, has been thoughtfully maintained and renovated throughout its history, most recently undergoing significant improvements to the rectory and clock tower between 2012 and 2014. In 2005, the parish was entrusted to serve the Polish community of St. Louis and surrounding areas, becoming a spiritual and cultural center for Polish Catholics in the region. The church also operates the St. John II Polish School and maintains a Polish Library, reflecting its commitment to preserving Polish heritage alongside Catholic faith and education.
