About Sparta First Baptist
Sparta First Baptist is a Baptist congregation located eight miles east of Ozark on State Highway 14 in rural Missouri, centered on the mission to love as Christ loved. The church gathers around four pillars: loving the Lord through worship, loving the lost through evangelism, loving the body of Christ through discipleship, and loving one another through fellowship and edification. Under the pastoral leadership of Duane and Denise Smith, the church describes itself as a loving and friendly family that welcomes visitors and actively ministers to the Sparta community and beyond. The congregation holds a traditional Baptist understanding of salvation through personal faith in Jesus Christ, believer's baptism by immersion, and the authority of Scripture.
