About College Street Baptist Church
College Street Baptist Church has been serving Springfield since 1927, rooted in the Southern Baptist tradition. Located on historic Route 66, the church exists to reach up through worship, reach out to bring people to Christ, and reach in to help followers grow in spiritual maturity. Pastor Dr. Garland McGath leads a congregation comprised of people from nearly every walk of life—families, singles, young adults, and seniors. Visitors will encounter uplifting music, a friendly atmosphere, and practical Bible teaching designed to help people address real-life issues and deepen their relationship with God. The church emphasizes relationships and spiritual foundations developed through Sunday School and small group Bible study. CSBC welcomes all who seek a place to call home and an opportunity to connect with their faith community.
First-Time Visitor Info for College Street Baptist Church
Dress Code: Dress casually or in your Sunday best. Service Format: Sunday School at 8:45 am (45 minutes) followed by worship service at 9:30 am (approximately one hour). Services are held in the ground floor fellowship hall with accessible parking behind the church or on College Street. Visitor Tips: Enter through the west side entrance.
