About St John's Episcopal Church

St. John's Episcopal Church, established in 1881, is the oldest standing church in Butte, Montana, constructed from local granite in the Norman style with distinctive crenelated towers. The church features magnificent stained-glass windows, including a renowned work by Pompeo Bertini, the stained-glass artist for the Cathedral of Milan, dedicated to the daughter of Copper King W.A. Clark. St. John's has maintained its historical significance and architectural beauty through careful restoration, including a 1921 reconstruction following a fire that remained faithful to the original design. Today, the parish continues to serve its congregation and the Butte community with Sunday services beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall for fellowship and refreshments.
