About Presbytery of Central Nebraska
The Presbytery of Central Nebraska is a governing body of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) serving forty-six counties across Nebraska with thirty-nine congregations. Founded in 1977 through the merging of portions of Niobrara and Platte Presbyteries, this presbytery has evolved significantly over nearly five decades, developing innovative ministry models including a network of trained lay pastors and commissioned lay pastor programs that now serve churches throughout the region. The presbytery is dedicated to nurturing, serving, and supporting its congregations in proclaiming salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, while maintaining a commitment to ministry and mission both within and beyond its geographic bounds. Led by Executive Presbyter and Stated Clerk Rev. Polly K. Deppen-Williams, the organization seeks to lead congregations with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love. The presbytery has a rich history of youth and camping ministry, which continues today through partnerships with several regional camps and retreat centers.
