Salem Lutheran Church is a conservative, independent Lutheran congregation located in Malone, Texas, approximately one mile north of the town near FM 308. The church was founded by German immigrants who settled in Hill County and has maintained a long and proud history since its establishment, with cemetery records dating back to 1888. The congregation worships the Triune God and emphasizes traditional Lutheran worship, utilizing The Lutheran Hymnal, originally published in 1941. Sunday School services begin at 9:30 each Sunday morning, followed by the main worship service at 10:30. Salem declared its independence from the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod on July 18, 2004, and continues to serve its rural community with a focus on biblical teaching and conservative theology.
