About St John Neumann Roman Catholic Church
St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church in North Las Vegas was established as the first new parish in the Diocese of Las Vegas on March 1, 1999, founded by Bishop Daniel F. Walsh with Fr. Bede Wevita as its first pastor. The parish has grown from 31 people attending its initial Mass in a rectory to a vibrant faith community that celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024 and dedicated a newly constructed church building in February 2026. The parish is known for its quality pastoral music, faithful celebrations of the Eucharist, and a commitment to faith formation, including the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd—a Montessori-based program that has become a cornerstone of their religious education. Beyond liturgical life, St. John Neumann maintains active outreach ministries, parish organizations including the Marthas and Marys for women and the Men's Club, and multiple faith formation opportunities for children, teens, and adults. The parish community emphasizes fellowship and service, having successfully completed capital campaigns for parish facilities and a new church building while remaining committed to serving the spiritual needs of the North Las Vegas area.
