About Lutheran Church Of The Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a welcoming faith community serving downtown Reno, Nevada since 1947. As a congregation of the Sierra Pacific Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a Reconciling in Christ Congregation, Good Shepherd practices God's grace and Christ's love while reaching out to people in need. The church is committed to welcoming all people, including LGBTQIA+ persons and other marginalized communities, and seeks to form faith in people of all ages. Good Shepherd offers two Sunday morning worship services with different musical styles and encourages multi-generational participation. The congregation actively serves their community and invites visitors to connect with their faith community regardless of background or prior Lutheran experience.

Dress Code: The church is a "come as you are" community where visitors are welcome in whatever clothing makes them comfortable, from formal attire to casual wear. Service Format: Two Sunday services are offered at 9am (50-minute contemporary worship with the 4Jesus Band) and 11am (60-minute traditional worship featuring the choir and Lutheran liturgy and hymns from the 16th to 21st century), both including Holy Communion. Visitor Tips: Introducing yourself during the greeting time is optional and completely up to you; childcare and Little Lutheran activity bags are available; the building is wheelchair accessible with ramps and accessible restrooms.
