About Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission
The Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission is a nondenominational Christian organization serving Northern Nevada since 1963, dedicated to helping individuals struggling with homelessness, hunger, poverty, abuse, and addiction find healing and hope. Originally housed in a converted hotel that once served as a bar, the Mission has evolved into one of Northern Nevada's largest Christian providers of comprehensive services, having served nearly 15 million meals, provided over 2.7 million nights of shelter, and helped more than 100,000 people struggling with substance abuse. The organization operates with what leadership describes as "big hearts and tough love," taking a holistic approach that addresses spiritual, employment, social service, and mentorship needs. Core programs include a 13-month Christian residential addiction recovery program, community services providing groceries and clothing, and extensive food services. The Mission serves approximately 75 residential clients nightly and reaches thousands more through its various community programs, demonstrating a strong commitment to meeting people at their point of pain and guiding them toward transformation.
