About Saint Anselm Abbey
Saint Anselm Abbey is a Benedictine monastery located on the campus of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. Founded in 1889 by monks from Newark, New Jersey, the community of thirty monks follows the sixth-century Rule of Saint Benedict, living out their commitment to prayer and work as a means of seeking God. The abbey is distinguished by its deep integration with Saint Anselm College, where the monks serve as educators and administrators, viewing their college work as a labor offered in service to the Church. The monastic community celebrates the Liturgy of the Hours and the Eucharist daily in the Abbey Church, and both members of the Saint Anselm community and the general public are invited to participate in these public liturgies. The abbey's mission reflects the Benedictine motto, 'That in all things God may be glorified.'
