About Church Alive
Church Alive is a Spirit-filled, contemporary Apostolic church located at the Greenleaf Recreation Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Under the leadership of founding pastors Apostle Bob and Prophet Anita Wingo, who have served for 37 years, the church emphasizes the power of spiritual gifts, meaningful relationships, and authentic discipleship. The pastoral team includes Pastors Jake and Beth Wing and Pastors David and Jacqui Hodgkins, who bring worship, counseling, teaching, and youth ministry to the congregation. Church Alive welcomes visitors to experience dynamic, Spirit-led worship combined with biblical teaching, and invites people to discover how God's transformative message might change their lives.
First-Time Visitor Info for Church Alive
Dress Code: Casual—expect to see jeans, dress pants, dresses, sports coats, and the occasional suit and tie; wear what makes you comfortable. Service Format: Arrive between 10:00–10:30 a.m. for coffee and fellowship; the 10:30 a.m. service features approximately 30 minutes of contemporary, Spirit-led worship (including singing in tongues, prophecy, and words of knowledge), followed by preaching and a prayer/ministry time, concluding around noon. Children ages 4–12 are dismissed to Children's Church after the opening worship. Visitor Tips: The church values a participatory approach to worship—you may sit, stand, clap, raise your hands, or simply sing from your heart in whatever way feels authentic to you.
