About Garden State Sikh Association
Garden State Sikh Association is a Sikh sangat serving the Basking Ridge and Bridgewater area. Incorporated in 1974 with its own charter and bylaws, the community began with Path and Kirtan in members’ homes before purchasing its 13-acre Bridgewater property in 1979. The first Darbar hall was completed in 1986, with its first kirtan held for Vaisakhi celebrations that April. A 2008 expansion added a new Darbar hall, kitchen, Langar hall, restrooms, and additional rooms. The original Darbar hall was converted for the Khalsa School and Library, supporting learning for children and the wider community.
