About Mater Ecclesiae Church
Mater Ecclesiae Church is a Roman Catholic parish established in Berlin, New Jersey on October 13, 2000, by Bishop Nicholas A. DiMarzio during the Jubilee Year and on the anniversary of the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. It was the first canonically established mission owned by a diocese and staffed exclusively by diocesan priests to celebrate exclusively the Traditional Rites of the Church. Under the leadership of Rector Father Robert C. Pasley, the parish celebrates the Tridentine Mass, described as "The Most Venerable Rite of Mass in all of Christianity." The community welcomes all visitors regardless of territorial boundaries, inviting them to experience these sacred liturgies. The parish also hosts the annual Mass of Thanksgiving on the Feast of the Assumption, featuring orchestral masses by composers such as Haydn, Mozart, and Schubert, and maintains active ministries including the Federation of North American Explorers for youth ages 6 to 17.
