About First Baptist Chr-Bordentown
First Baptist Church of Bordentown is one of New Jersey's oldest continuously active churches, with roots tracing back to 1751 when Baptists from Upper Freehold established a congregation that would eventually become the present-day church. Officially incorporated as First Baptist Church of Bordentown in 1844, the church has maintained a strong presence in the community for over 270 years, surviving three building reconstructions including one following the Great Fire of 1882. The congregation describes itself as a welcoming and loving community where people from many different walks of life and traditions gather to worship, learn, and serve together. True to Baptist tradition, the church maintains local autonomy in its preaching, worship, teaching, and outreach missions while being affiliated with American Baptist Churches of New Jersey and USA.
