About St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church
St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Hoboken, New Jersey is part of a merged parish that traces its roots to 1851 when Our Lady of Grace was founded, making it one of the oldest Roman Catholic communities in the United States. St. Joseph itself was established in 1871, and the two parishes united in 2008 to serve the Hoboken and Jersey City areas. The parish is deeply committed to creating a spirit-filled, service-oriented community that welcomes visitors and new members to explore its rich ministries and activities. Beyond Sunday Mass, St. Joseph's offers sacramental preparation, religious education, a music ministry, and various community organizations including the Catholic Social Club and ministers to the sick and elderly. The parish actively engages its neighborhood through events such as the annual St. Joseph Flea Market and maintains a welcoming stance toward all who wish to grow in faith, including an LGBTQ+ ministry called LGBTQ@GRACE.
