Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, located at 344 Sixth Street in downtown Jersey City, is the city's oldest Italian Catholic parish and the first Italian national parish in New Jersey, founded in 1885 to serve the growing Italian immigrant community. The Romanesque Revival church building features a brick façade, original stained glass windows, and richly ornamented interior artwork reflecting traditional Italian devotional life. Today, the parish maintains strong Italian and Marian devotional traditions while serving a diverse urban congregation, offering regular Masses in English and bilingual Italian/English, confessions, sacramental preparation, and special devotions to Our Lady of the Rosary.
