About Emanuel Lutheran Church
Emanuel Lutheran Church is a progressive, diverse congregation in downtown New Brunswick founded in 1878 by German immigrants. Today, it welcomes all ethnicities, races, identities, and orientations to its table of grace and forgiveness, emphasizing inclusive language in worship, weekly communion for people of all ages, and the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ persons. Beyond its Sunday worship at 10:00 AM, Emanuel is deeply rooted in community service, having been instrumental in founding Elijah's Promise soup kitchen, Middlesex Interfaith Partners with the Homeless, and other social service initiatives.
