About Saint John The Evangelist Church
Saint John The Evangelist Church is an Episcopal congregation in New Brunswick founded in 1861. Its life is centered in the Eucharist and in service to the community and wider world. The church is located next to the Rutgers Public Safety Building near the Cook/Douglass College campus of Rutgers University. Its Sunday Choral Eucharist is supported during the school year by Choral Scholars from Rutgers’ Mason Gross School of the Arts. Outreach projects include lunches for Elijah’s Promise, the Christmas Angel Tree, school backpacks and supplies, Good Shepherd Home in Cameroon, United Thank Offering, and Episcopal Relief & Development Fund.
