About Paradise Baptist Church
Paradise Baptist Church, located in Newark, New Jersey, has served its community since 1943 when Rev. Robert Mead formed a Mission Circle that grew into the congregation. Under the current leadership of Bishop Jethro C. James Jr., who has guided the church since October 1990, Paradise Baptist has developed into a vibrant ministry with a commitment to spiritual growth and community service. The church operates a range of programs including scholarship initiatives, youth ministries, a women's summer bible institute, men's ministry, liturgical dance ministry, and prison ministry. The congregation welcomes all visitors with an open-door approach, inviting people to come as they are to participate in worship and the church's various outreach efforts designed to impact the Newark community.

Service Format: Sunday School begins at 9 AM, followed by Worship & Praise at 10:30 AM and Morning Worship at 11 AM; midweek services include Prayer Meeting at 6:30 PM on Wednesday and Bible Study at 7 PM.
