About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Palisades Park has roots going back to Union Chapel, founded in 1897, and was established as First Presbyterian Church in 1909. Rev. David Peng, the church’s thirteenth pastor, was called in 2000. The congregation offers Sunday worship in four languages, with Mandarin, English, Korean, and Spanish services. Touch Community Christian Center was founded in 2005 as part of the church’s ministry. The church has also been open daily for prayer and meditation.

The congregation was founded as Union Chapel in 1897 and became First Presbyterian Church in 1909. The new church was dedicated March 19, 1916, and the 1957 expansion design was volunteered by Carl Mattberg.
