About Second Baptist Church

Second Baptist Church of Pedricktown is a Baptist congregation with deep historical roots in the community, having been established in 1904 as a prayer meeting and formally incorporated in 1911. Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Kevin M. Peterson, the church emphasizes a Bible-based, Christ-centered ministry rooted in the love of God and one another. The congregation gathers for Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. for all ages, including a special weekly session called "the Conversation" for young people ages 13 to 19, followed by worship at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. The church also offers Wednesday evening Bible study via Zoom at 6:00 p.m. and a prayer meeting at 7:00 p.m., welcoming visitors to experience what the church describes as the love of Christ and the warmth of God's people. With the motto "The Church where everybody is somebody," Second Baptist Church invites individuals and families seeking spiritual growth, biblical instruction, and community fellowship.
