About Central United Methodist Church
Central United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant Beach has served its community since 1919, when Reverend E.R. Craig preached the first sermon in a rented room on Arnold Avenue. The congregation's determination to build a permanent home led to the completion of their church building by 1923, complete with a pipe organ and dedicated Sunday School facilities. Over more than a century, Central UMC has remained committed to its enduring mission: making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The church envisions itself as a beacon of love and friendship in the name of Jesus Christ, welcoming visitors and community members to join in worship and spiritual growth.
