About Trinity United
Trinity United in Rahway has Methodist roots reaching back to 1774, when Rev. William Watters brought Methodism to the area. A board of trustees was elected in 1798, beginning the First Methodist Episcopal Church, and the first worship service at the current site was held in 1893. The congregation became Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church in 1895, and “United” was added to the name in 1960. Its ministries include pastoral leadership, evangelism, outreach, nurture, prayer, and music.
