About Saint Michaels Church
Saint Michael's Church in Trenton is a historic Episcopal parish founded in 1703, making it one of the oldest Anglican churches in New Jersey. The congregation describes itself as a diverse community of prayer, compassion, and justice that has served the city for over three centuries. Worship follows Episcopal traditions using the Book of Common Prayer and hymns from The Hymnal 1982 and Lift Every Voice and Sing II. The church features a distinctive musical program, with a Baroque organ offertory on alternating Sundays and piano preludes by world-renowned pianist Clipper Erickson celebrating different composers each month. Beyond Sunday services, Saint Michael's actively engages in urban ministry, shares its worship space with other faith traditions, and operates a bookstore offering free books and recovery materials to the community.
