About Christ The King Church
Christ the King Episcopal Church in Willingboro, New Jersey has served its community since 1959, when it was established as a mission to support the rapidly growing post-war residential development. Founded with land donated by Levitt and Sons, the church grew from a small handful of members to a thriving parish, earning full parish status in 1965 and again in 2009 after a period as a mission. Today under the leadership of The Rev. Father Vernal S. Savage, the congregation includes over 90 pledging families and is guided by a mission to share God's love for all people while cultivating compassion, deepening spiritual practices, and working for justice rooted in human dignity. The church offers a rich array of ministries including outreach programs such as ECS computer training for adults, partnerships with Urban Promise, community service events, and active groups for men and women. Visitors will find a welcoming congregation committed to building relationships with one another and their neighbors, with a strong emphasis on service and love.
