About Cathedral of St John
The Cathedral of St. John is a historic Episcopal cathedral in Albuquerque and the home of the Diocese of the Rio Grande. It became a diocesan cathedral during the 1920s, and its current building, designed by John Gaw Meem and built in 1950, is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places. Worship follows a traditional Episcopal style, with music playing an important role in the cathedral’s life. The cathedral’s Reuter op. 2210 pipe organ is the largest in New Mexico.
