About St. Luke’s Episcopal Church

St. Luke's Episcopal Church, founded in 1916 as a mission to serve pioneer families in the Upper Valley, has grown into a Christ-centered community serving La Union, Anthony, Canutillo, Sunland Park, and surrounding areas near the New Mexico-Texas border. The congregation welcomes everyone to participate in services, with all baptized Christians invited to communion. Known throughout the Borderland for its annual Country Fair and Great Dachshund Stampede held every October, the church combines traditional worship with vibrant community outreach ministries. Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Canon Kathleen McNellis, St. Luke's offers a family-oriented, gospel-centered environment where visitors will find a welcoming congregation dedicated to serving both spiritual and fellowship needs.
