About St. Anthony Mission
St. Anthony Mission is a Catholic mission serving the Zuni Pueblo in Zuni, New Mexico. Its roots go back to about 1629, when the Old Mission was dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. The present mission was formally dedicated in August 1923, and St. Anthony’s Indian School opened the following month with 43 students. The school has been run by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Perpetual Adoration since 1923. Fr. Patrick McGuire serves as pastor. The mission’s long presence in Zuni connects Catholic worship, education, and ministry within the Pueblo community.
