Akron First United Methodist Church, founded in 1807, stands as the first Methodist congregation west of the Genesee River and a historic landmark in Western New York. Located at 7 Church Street in the heart of Akron village, the church gathers for Sunday worship at 9:00 a.m. and welcomes all to experience faith shaped by open hearts, open minds, and open doors. The congregation's mission centers on sharing the heart of Jesus from the heart of Akron through worship, community care, and compassionate service. Under the leadership of Pastor Pam Klotzbach and with music from pianist John Wise, Akron First creates a warm, multigenerational space where people discover hope, belonging, and a Christ-centered community committed to inclusion. Children's Sunday School and Adult Bible Study complement the worship experience, fostering spiritual growth across all ages.

Dress Code: Come as you are; there is room for you in this family of open hearts, open minds, and open doors. Service Format: Sunday worship at 9:00 a.m. includes a children's moment, after which young children may join the 9:00-10:00 a.m. Sunday School or remain in worship; adults are invited to Adult Bible Study at 10:15-11:00 a.m. afterward.
