About Throop Church of God
Throop Church of God is a Church of God congregation in Auburn with a mission to share the love of God and spread the news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Its vision is based on Luke 4:18. The church was officially organized on June 14, 1987, as the Auburn Church of God, after its first service was held in the Colombo family’s living room. Over the years, the congregation met at the Auburn Cooperative Extension, the Columbian Rope Building, and the Throop Fire Department fellowship hall. The church later raised funds through yard sales, chicken barbecues, and bake sales to purchase and renovate the Throop Fire Department building.
