About St John Greek Orthodox Church
St. John's Greek Orthodox Church is a vibrant community rooted in Orthodox faith and Greek heritage, located in Blue Point, New York. Established in 1940 as the first Greek Orthodox community in Suffolk County, the parish has grown from forty families to several hundred members. The church building itself is a striking Byzantine structure, consecrated in 1998, featuring authentic Italian marble iconostasis and intricate religious artwork. St. John's is dedicated to youth education, cultural engagement, and outreach to the surrounding community. The parish welcomes visitors to worship and invites them to become part of their fellowship in Christ, offering numerous ministries including stewardship, communication, and facility care.
