About Hope Christian Center
Hope Christian Center in the Bronx has a rich history spanning over five decades of Christ-centered ministry. Originally founded in 1969, the church served as a gospel-proclaiming refuge for men struggling with substance abuse, welcoming approximately 4,000 individuals through its doors with more than 400 completing its residential program. While the residential ministry concluded in 2024, the church continues its gospel mission through a bi-weekly support and Bible study group led by Angel Rodriguez, a Hope Center alumnus and current board member. This ongoing ministry addresses life-controlling problems and provides discipleship, accountability, and prayer for men in recovery. The church remains committed to extending grace and hope to those seeking spiritual support and community.
