About Church of God of East Flatbush
Ebenezer Urban Ministry Center (formerly Church of God of East Flatbush) was founded in 1970 by Rev. Guy Notice to serve Brooklyn's growing Caribbean community and has since become a vital spiritual hub in the Brownsville neighborhood. Under the visionary leadership of Bishop Dr. R.C. Hugh Nelson since 2003, the church relocated to a state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot ministry center as part of Ebenezer Plaza, which also includes 530 affordable housing units. The congregation is deeply committed to its mission of "Making Disciples to Impact Our World" through discipleship, community outreach, educational programs, and leadership training. Services feature contemporary Gospel music with a live band, biblical teaching designed to be practical and inspiring, and an atmosphere that celebrates diversity and welcomes people at all stages of their faith journey. The church serves both the local Brooklyn community and people globally through its e-family platform, offering worship, prayer, children's ministries, and numerous volunteer opportunities.

Dress Code: Dress comfortably—you'll see diversity in attire from jeans to business casual to Sunday best. Service Format: Sunday worship begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts approximately 90 minutes, starting with 15 minutes of contemporary Gospel music led by a live band, followed by a biblical message. The church occasionally holds baptisms or celebrates communion during services, and takes up an offering (guests are not obligated to give). Visitor Tips: Arrive by 10:30 a.m. when doors open; parking is available on nearby streets but fills quickly. Upon arrival, the hospitality team will greet you and help with directions. Children's Church meets during the 11:00 a.m. service for age-appropriate Bible lessons and worship. If you don't have a Bible, stop by the Welcome Center and ask for one.
