About Congregation Kol Israel
Congregation Kol Israel is a welcoming Modern Orthodox Jewish community located in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, founded in 1924 as the oldest continuously practicing Orthodox congregation in the borough. The community embraces diversity, welcoming members from Chasidic, Modern Orthodox, and other backgrounds, and has grown to 75 member units. Guided by Torah and Halakha, the congregation focuses on building strong relationships among members and with God through prayer, study, and acts of loving kindness. Services are held throughout the week, with Saturday Shacharit at 9:30 a.m. and Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat timed according to candle lighting.
