About Flatbush Church Of God
Ebenezer Urban Ministry Center, formerly Church of God of East Flatbush, was founded in 1970 by Rev. Guy Notice to serve Brooklyn's growing Caribbean community. Located in the Brownsville neighborhood, the church operates from a state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot ministry center built as part of Ebenezer Plaza, which includes 530 affordable housing units. The congregation is family-centered and diverse, dedicated to its mission of "Making Disciples to Impact Our World" through worship, discipleship, community outreach, and social empowerment. Led by Bishop Dr. R.C. Hugh Nelson since 2003, the ministry offers worship services, children's church, educational programs, prayer initiatives, and extensive community ministries including benevolence and urban ministerial training. Visitors of all faith backgrounds and stages are welcomed to experience the church's contemporary Gospel music, Bible-centered teaching, and Spirit-led worship.

Service Format: Sunday worship begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts approximately 90 minutes, starting with 15 minutes of contemporary Gospel music led by a live band with lyrics projected on screens, followed by a pastor's Bible-centered message. The service may include baptisms or communion with explanation beforehand, and an offering is collected, though guests are under no obligation to give. Visitor Tips: Doors open at 10:30 a.m.; arrive early as spaces fill quickly. Street parking is available on Linden Boulevard, Hegeman Avenue, and New Lots Avenue. A hospitality team greets you upon arrival to answer questions and provide directions. Children's Church meets during the 11:00 a.m. service for age-appropriate Bible lessons and worship.
