About Our Lady of Solace Church
Shrine Church of Our Lady of Solace has served as the only Catholic faith community in Coney Island since 1900, welcoming all of God's people who come to live on or visit the shores of Brooklyn. As a Eucharistic community, the parish proclaims the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through word and sacrament, guided by the Holy Spirit. The church is committed to understanding and responding to the spiritual, educational, and social needs of its diverse community. Under the leadership of the Vocationist Fathers, the parish underwent extensive renovation in 2015 and continues to grow as a vibrant faith community. Visitors are warmly invited to experience the rich history and welcoming atmosphere of this historic shrine.
