About Polish Natl Catholic Church Of Resurrection
The Polish National Catholic Church of the Resurrection, located at 678 Leonard Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, has served its community since 1838, when it first stood as the non-denominational Church of the Evangelist. Acquired in 1922 by Polish expatriates, the church continues its sacramental Catholic tradition while maintaining a democratic, independent character that welcomes members of all racial and ethnic backgrounds. Holy Mass is celebrated in Polish and English on alternating Sundays at 9:30 a.m., with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament following the first Sunday Mass of each month, and Stations of the Cross offered during Lent. The church is easily accessible by car, the B62 Bus Line, or a short walk from the Greenpoint Avenue stop of the Greenpoint G subway line. As a Catholic community that values inclusivity and affirms the dignity of all who seek Christ, the Church of the Resurrection invites visitors to experience its intimate worship and pastoral care.
