About Sisters Of Saint Joseph
The Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia is a Catholic congregation with roots tracing back to 17th century France, founded on the principle of uniting neighbor with neighbor and neighbor with God. Established in Philadelphia in 1847, the congregation has grown to include approximately 500 members who live and work across twelve states, responding to urgent challenges facing the Church and world. The Sisters have historically ministered in hospitals, schools, orphanages, and community aid services, particularly serving the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable. Today, they continue their mission of incarnating love and addressing unmet needs through prayer, education, and direct service. Visitors and supporters are invited to join them as partners in mission, whether through prayers, donations, or engagement with their work for social justice and spiritual renewal.
