About Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church
Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church, founded in 1931 as a Swedish mission congregation, has evolved into a vibrant, multicultural community rooted in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Located in Huntington Station, New York, the congregation centers its life on Word and Sacrament, gathering weekly for worship where members sing of God's glory and are nourished for lives of loving service. The church actively engages in community outreach through Joseph's Storehouse food pantry and participation in the Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative, serving alongside dozens of area congregations and synagogues. As a Reconciling in Christ congregation, Gloria Dei welcomes people of all backgrounds. In a collaborative ministry beginning in October 2022, Gloria Dei shares worship and ministry with sister Lutheran congregations, meeting for Sunday service at 10:00 AM on the St. Peter's Campus.
