About Helping Hand Rescue Mission
Helping Hand Rescue Mission is a faith-based community outreach center located in Huntington Station, New York, founded in 1965 by Reverend J.A. Gaines, his wife Reverend Rose Marie Gaines, and Florence E. Meringola. The mission operates with a core belief that every person deserves love and compassion regardless of their circumstances, serving the local community through programs including a food pantry that distributes to over 200 families weekly, Baby Blessings assistance for families with young children, and seasonal holiday programs. Under the leadership of President and Pastor Reverend Kim Gaines-Gambino, the organization continues the founders' vision of functioning as a lighthouse in the community. The mission welcomes volunteers and community members to join in their work of loving, serving, and giving to those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and financial instability.
