St. Mark's Thrift Shop is an Episcopal ministry in Islip, New York that has served the community for over 35 years as an outreach to those in need. Founded as a voluntary ministry involving both St. Mark's members and volunteers from the broader Islip community, the shop extends the budgets of individuals facing financial hardship through affordable clothing and donations. The shop participates in a voucher program through which other churches and organizations refer those in need for free clothing assistance. Beyond retail sales, St. Mark's gives away thousands of pounds of clothing and donations annually to other churches, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the Disabled American Veterans, demonstrating a commitment to generosity that exceeds commercial activity.
